The Wilshire Ebell Theatre and the Ebell of Los Angeles are very important venues in Los Angeles. Founded as a women’s club in 1894, the Ebell of Los Angeles has always been on the forefront of civil rights movements, especially as they relate to minorities’ and women’s involvement in the arts. Over the years, the stage at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre has been graced by numerous talents including a young Judy Garland who was discovered at the Ebell. The theater also hosted the groundbreaking premiere of the play “8” which centered on the fight for marriage equality. The star-studded cast of 8 included George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and others. Proceeds from the show benefited the legal fight which ultimately led to a historic victory in the Supreme Court of the United States in favor of marriage equality which allows us to be married today.
As much as we love all your little munchkins, our Friday and Saturday events are adults only. Kids are welcome at the brunch on Sunday!
Basically, we want you to look and feel the most fabulous you’ve ever felt. This is an opportunity for you to strut out in that over the top look you’ve always wanted to try but never had the opportunity before. Obviously, more than anything, we want you to have fun and wear something you are comfortable having fun in. When in doubt, that little black dress or dark suit in your closet will do just fine. For those of you interested in seeing some of the sartorial trends that are inspiring us these days, take a look HERE!
We will fully comply with all COVID protocols at the time of the wedding. We also request that all guests be fully vaccinated and boosted prior to attending. Please note that proof of vaccination will be required to gain entry to the venues.
